La NBA 2K League ha annunciato la lista dei 102 giocatori che diventeranno i primi professionisti del campionato di gaming della Lega, la cui stagione inaugurale scatterà a maggio. Ognuna delle 17 squadre che parteciperanno al campionato selezionerà sei giocatori durante l’NBA 2K League Draft 2018, che si terrà oggi alle ore 19:00 italiane presso l’Hulu Theater del Madison Square Garden di New York. Le squadre sceglieranno un giocatore per ruolo (playmaker, guardia, ala piccola, ala grande, centro) nei primi cinque round, e un altro giocatore nella posizione da loro preferita nel sesto round. I Mavs Gaming avranno la prima scelta assoluta. L’ordine completo del draft è disponibile qui. Il processo di selezione dei gamer è iniziato a gennaio, tramite delle qualificazioni che hanno coinvolto 72.000 partecipanti, ed è proseguito a febbraio con l’NBA 2K League Combine. In seguito, la NBA 2K League ha identificato i migliori 250 giocatori, intervistandoli uno ad uno. Dopo le interviste, le informazioni raccolte su ogni giocatore sono state valutate da un comitato di selezione e utilizzate per determinare i 102 giocatori eleggibili al draft.
